Fishermans

Fishermans is a demanding par 4 and the first hole to turn back in the opposite direction, often presenting a very different challenge depending on the wind. Two bunkers sit opposite one another on either side of the fairway, creating a key decision from the tee. Laying up short of the bunkers offers the safer route, but leaves a significantly longer approach into the green. Those who challenge the hazards and find the fairway beyond are rewarded with a much shorter second shot. The approach is often played blind, adding to the difficulty of the hole. The green is well protected by bunkers guarding both the front left and front right entrances, placing a premium on accuracy and distance control. A long putting surface means club selection is particularly important. When the flag is positioned towards the back of the green, players should ensure they take enough club, as coming up short can leave a difficult recovery and make par hard to save. A strong par on Fishermans is always a welcome addition to the scorecard.
