Hollow is a par 3 which offers a stern test despite its modest length. The green is heavily defended, with a bunker guarding the front left and three more waiting to catch anything pushed to the right. While avoiding the sand is the obvious priority, the shape and contours of the green make the challenge far more complex. One of the most undulating putting surfaces on the course, the green features a pronounced slope running from right to left. As a result, the ideal approach often needs to flirt with the bunkers on the right-hand side, allowing the contours to feed the ball towards the centre of the green. Like the 1st hole, Hollow is not particularly long, but finding the putting surface is far from straightforward. Even when safely aboard, the severe slopes can make two-putting difficult, meaning that par is never guaranteed. A superb short hole that rewards precision, confidence and a good touch on the greens.
